Mat Makers

Here at Scarborough Bluffs we have been making sleeping mats from milk bags since January 2011.  We cut the outside bag of the 4 litre milk packages into strips , then crochet and weave the mats into two sizes, for adults and children. The mats are picked up and taken to a warehouse in Mississauga, and are picked up by the Canadian Food for Children charity, and they are sent to places in need, like Haiti. 

The Mat Makers / Crafters meet in the auditorium every Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 11:30 AM. Come out and join us for this worthwhile project, fellowship and coffee. No experience is required and all are welcome.
